Womes's Ministries at OUMC
"They had been followers of Jesus and had cared for him while he was in Galilee. Then they and many other women had come with him to Jerusalem.” Mark 15:41

From the beginning of Christ’s ministry, women have played and integral role in the Church. This tradition continues today in all areas of the church, both local and worldwide. We invite you to explore the ministries of OUMC tailored specifically for women.

Women’s Ministries:

WOMEN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS

Meeting Sundays at 9:30 a.m. in room #303 in the CLC, the Women’s Sunday School Class is designed to be a safe place for sharing, support, prayer and Bible study. For more information on the class, please contact Sherry Howard at work (894-7573) or at home (238-6079).

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN

United Methodist Women seek to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Christ Jesus. Our purpose is to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand the concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church. Our goal is to help women, children and youth to have a better way of life. (From Mobilizing Women for Ministry. Copyright 1996 by Abingdon Press.)

Locally we contribute to the Bethlehem Center, the Women’s Violence Center, Camp Lookout for Youth, local youth on mission trips, Chattanooga food bank, and Room in the Inn. We participate in the Spiritual Enrichment Experience at Lake Junaluska, N.C., School of Christian Mission, and A Day Apart, and district mission trips.

OOLTEWAH UNITED METHODIST WOMEN’S CIRCLES

As part of United Methodist Women, we have three small groups or Circles that meet each month at various locations in the community. These small groups live out the purpose and the goals of the greater organization of the United Methodist Women and in so doing have the opportunity to share and grow in their relationships within the group.

  • Alpha Circle meets the 1st Thursday of each month, 10:00 a.m., in room 115 in the Educational Building.
  • Friendship Circle meets the 3rd Thursday of each month, 7:00 p.m., in rooms 108 and 109 in the Education Building.
